Volunteer with Grassroots Ecology and Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) to support a tidal salt marsh that serves as critical habitat for hundreds of species of shore birds, fish, and mammals (including the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse and Ridgway’s rail!). During our time together, volunteers will install native plants to support revegetation of wildlife habitat and then use buckets to water the plants. We'll end our time together with a short, guided walk along a paved, flat path to enjoy views of the marshland and San Francisco Bay.
Visit Grassroots Ecology’s Cooley Landing webpage to learn more about the ecosystem and accessibility considerations.
POST protects open space on the Peninsula and in the South Bay for the benefit of all. As a private nonprofit land trust, POST has been responsible for saving more than 87,000 acres since 1977. POST works with private landowners and public agencies to connect people and nature. Visit openspacetrust.org for more information.
