Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join our finance team as Senior Finance and Accounting Technician.

About Midpen:  Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District is an independent special district created by California voters of northwestern Santa Clara County in 1972, joined in 1976 by southern San Mateo County, and expanded to the San Mateo coast side in 2004. Midpen's mission is "To acquire and preserve a regional greenbelt of open space land in perpetuity; protect and restore the natural environment; and provide opportunities for ecologically sensitive public employment and education." Midpen owns and manages over 65,000 acres of land in 26 open space preserves. Activities on the preserves include hiking, cycling, horseback riding, picnicking, jogging and nature study.

About the Position:  Qualified candidates have experience performing the full range of technical work in general accounting and auditing and are highly experienced in:

• Accounts payable
• Accounts receivable
• Accounting support activities including, but not limited to, reconciling expenditure and revenue accounts (including capital assets and long-term debt funds), verifying availability of funds and classification of expenditures, researching transactions to resolve problems, reconciling bank statements to the general ledger, and providing technical assistance to the Accountant in preparation of the year-end audit.
